NYA Hosts Arewa Tiktokers, Emphasizes Opportunities In Digital Skills



*Prizes ranging from N500,000 to N50,000 was presented to NYA quiz  winners



The National Youth Alliance (NYA)  in its bid at ensuring that youth are empowered through digital skills, has hosted Arewa Tiktokers, in view of its resolve to birthing a new Nigeria.


At the well attended event in Kano on Wednesday evening, no fewer than 50 Tiktokers from Northern Nigeria, under the aegis of Arewa Tiktokers were hosted, with several empowered with cash rewards.


According to a statement by his SA Media, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, speaking at the event, President of the NYA, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas said that NYA is a youth-led political movement and leadership platform dedicated to empowering young Nigerians to take active roles in governance, policymaking, and national development. 


"It serves as a unifying force for patriotic youth across Nigeria, advocating for political inclusion, social justice, economic empowerment, and responsible leadership from the grassroots to the national level.


"NYA is committed to building a new generation of visionary leaders who will drive positive change and uphold the values of unity, accountability, and national progress," he said.


He explained that the aims NYA,  to build and empower a new generation of visionary, responsible, and patriotic youth leaders across Nigeria.


" NYA is also aimed at  promoting active youth participation in politics and governance at local, state, and national levels," he said.


He therefore, tasked the Arewa Tiktokers to be patriotic and key into the NYA agenda, to build a prosperous Nigeria that would be beneficial to all citizens.



Ambassador Bin Abbas stressed that the Arewa Tiktokers role in collaboration with NYA, is to  advocate for transparency, accountability, equity, and justice in all sectors of governance.


"You are also expected to strengthen political consciousness among young people at the grassroots and mobilize them for national development.

"Foster unity, peace, and mutual understanding among Nigerian youths regardless of religion, tribe, or region.


"Engage in constructive dialogue and advocacy that influences youth-friendly policies and constitutional reforms," he told the youth, drawn from the 19 states in Northern Nigeria and the FCT.

Furthermore, he underscored the importance of promoting education, vocational training, and digital skills that enhance youth productivity and self-reliance, to reduce the frightening gap of our of school children in Northern Nigeria. 


"You are also expected to key into NYA's vision of creating opportunities for youth entrepreneurship, employment, and access to government and private sector support programmes.


"Importantly, we are poised to involving  youths in national security dialogue and anti-corruption awareness, promoting integrity and patriotism" he declared.


At the end of the gathering, cash prizes ranging from N500,000 to N50,000 was presented to winners of NYA quiz by its national President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas to winners.
